It’s not raining anymore! Word! It’s 17 degrees out, yikes. No sun, but the rain is supposed to hold off for now. Bepa/Vika are on the second court, so I won’t have anything from that match, sorry. Caro/Kuz and then the final.

17:17 …*Tumbleweed*… Sorry about that. Caro won pretty easily, obviously.

14:28 Up a break, Caro is looking in total control. Bepa can’t buy a first serve (under 40%) and is on the edge of total collapse.

14:17 Caro takes the first set, but Bepa has come out focused in the second, and has upped the power.

14:03 Bepa is finding her way into this set, but she’s a bit late to the party. Moving her feet better, but still getting done in by Caro’s defence. Bepa to serve to stay in it at 2-5.

13:55 Swing volley city for Caro, and she holds. Bepa really trying to get the juices flowing, whacking at her leg and the usual business. Both players are serving well below 50%, would have to guess the wind is having a little something to do with it.

13:52 Some solid power and aggression from Caro going out wide gives her a couple of easy net put aways and she’s up a break. 3-1.

13:46 Mishit from Vera and Caro holds. Bepa is already swatting at the air…

13:43 Double dosage of double faults at 15-30 for Bepa… aaand one game all. Okie dokie.

13:41 Winner for Bepa and some errors… she breaks to open. 1-0.

13:36 Hey all. Players warming up, Mariana in the chair. Time. 22 degrees out. Stadium starting to fill up.

11:21 That’s all folks. 6-2, 6-3. Pretty boring match, Kuz haunted by far too many errors and too many deep balls by Caro. See you all at 1:30 for the final!

11:18 Four straight errors, and Caro breaks at love. Oh, WTA. Meanwhile, Vera saves a set point to take the opening set on the second court, 8-6 in the tiebreak.

11:14 Caro holds at love with an ace thrown in for good measure. Zzzz. 3-4.

11:11 Dog fight out here now. Still no breaks of serve. A lot of whacked out angles. 2-3.

11:04 Quick hold, with some help from Caro. Sveta’s first serve still needs some help. 2-2.

10:59 Caro finally points away the game with a goofy backhand swing volley at the net. Jebus. 1-2. Bepa was broken, Vika for the first set at 6-5.

10:58 Still in the same game… goofy out wide forehand from Sveta, she blows her fourth break point of the game.

10:54 Great game from Sveta. She’s being more patient, playing a bit more into Caro’s gameplan, but taking the small opportunities. Far fewer ridiculous risks, and less errors because of it.

10:52 Caro does well to save a couple of break points, gets ad… and double fault. Deuce again.

10:45 Easy hold from Caro. Sveta up against a break point comes to net and nails the drop shot winner. Ace and a long ball from Caro, Sveta has her hold. 1-1.

10:37 Ick. A long forehand and a ball out wide from 30-all and Caro takes the first set 6-2. A botched volley combined with some far too passive stuff.

10:33 Papa Woz is out. If you told me he was explaining to his daughter how planes take flight, I’d believe you. Those are some crazy hand signals. Caro is wiping something out of her eye. Clearly far more interesting. Sveta to stay in it, 2-5.

10:28 Here comes Sveta. Finding the angles, she holds easily. 4-2.

10:25 Caro holds to go up 4-1. Sveta grimacing and making strange faces. Not sure if it’s injury or her badly missed “winners”.

10:24 Sveta finally holds. Movement isn’t fantastic. And the sun is out! If Sveta can play like she has all week, I don’t mind her chances. Mind you, Caro can retrieve for a long ass time, so we’ll see.

10:12 Caro starts up serving 2-0. Saves a couple of break points (one with a crazy running backhand passing shot). After the second one saved, Sveta seems a bit strained, moving a little gingerly. Then fires two winners at deuce, Caro holds on to the break.
