The Ladies Know Best

It always annoys me to see men coaching women’s sports, particularly in women’s hockey. It’s fine in women’s tennis, a lot of them have their dads or long time coaches, that’s fine. But in a developing sport like women’s hockey, it seems so dumb. What, they’re not smart enough to know how to coach and instruct? Help the game. Pick a woman.
The fact that there’s basically zero women coaching men is equally dumb. I know there’s typically more dudes involved in sport, but come on guys. It shouldn’t matter.
That’s why it’s so kickass to see Michael Llodra working with Momes… and having success. Everyone loves Momes, and the woman coaching man thing is all awesome and everything… but bloody hell, it can work!
Llodra served and volleyed his way to a straight sets win over Garlo, winning 88 percent of his first serves and facing only two break points and saving both.
“Amelie can bring me a lot [of advice] about how we approach the big competitions. Even if it is moving more in a friendly than purely professional [relationship]. She gave me a different look. I like this approach.”
You keep doin’ your thing.
