God damn. That made sense in my head, I swear! Q-Man wins the only tournament remotely starting with a “Q” and I have to screw it up. Pssh.
Anyway, solid return from Mr. “I Don’t Care”, who is apparently caring again. And no, he didn’t actually say “I don’t care” per se, but… whatever.
I can just hear it now. “This section of the draw of course having Sam Querrey and Mardy Fish, the two American’s who made the finals of Queen’s, and are poised to have an excellent Wimbledon along side fellow Americans Andy Roddick and John Isner.”
Actually, unlike some ridiculous hype over Tree and Q when it came to the clay season, you should probably listen this time. I don’t think I’ve babbled about Tree’s chances at Wimbledon, but you better watch out. If Ivo can do super well on grass with just the serve alone, imagine what he could do with better movement, better net game, and a huge forehand? Exactly. Tree has only ever played one Wimbley match, two years ago, where he lost to Ernie.
And of course Q-Man and Dick are going to be right there. I’m pretty sure Dick will be fine. Oh, and go away Mardy Fish.
Funny you should post this because Pete Bodo has a post up that puts 4 Americans as contenders for Wimbledon. That sound you hear is the chair falling over while I was laughing. Good one
Sam Querrey should try really hard not to do anything at all to his face. He should not smile, frown, laugh, speak. Just nothing and then we will see if that changes his features.
I’m torn: Sam Q’s awkwardness used to endear me to him, but after that French Open fit, it makes me resent him a bit. But I like to think every player has a press meltdown at some point and says something s/he shouldn’t, so maybe I should give him another chance. Ugh, life is too hard.
You know Emily is proud of her baby. And yes I do call a man who is 4 years old than me my baby. I call Tree my baby too. Great win of Sammy. Though I think this is like Fed’s RG win, there is an asterisk next to it because Sam really didn’t beat anyone of importance. Though it is good to show the tennis world that Sam is capable of caring about winning and in the end can come up with the win.
BTW Brodie, thanks for listening to me on that picture. I love that whole photo shoot. I saved it to my computer so that if I need a good laugh, all I have to do is look at Sam.
LOL. Shoulda given you props, woops. Yeah, epic pic, went back and found that tweet. It’s true, he didn’t beat anyone too tough, which is why I went on my little Tree blab. Pretty sure no one is going to be paying attention to him and he’s gonna cause a huge earth shaking upset. Seriously.
I’m worried about Tree though. Hasn’t played on grass in two years. Hopefully Sammy will have a good run. He almost beat Marin last year.
viola, you think DelPo is of no importance? Dang, you have very high standards then. If I am not mistaken DelPo was ranked in the top 5 of RG and actually went on to win a major. He actually pushed Federer to 5 sets. Is it that the only person that you have to beat to win a major is Nadal or Roddick or Murray or who? Additionally, just who did Nadal beat this year to win Roland Garros? A bunch of nobodies. Apart from Soderling, who else do you remember that Nadal played. Ugh
