9. Tomas Berdych

Weapons: Big serving, able to adapt his game to different surfaces, successful year.
Weaknesses: Proven headcase, tall.

Oddly enough, the only time T-Berd had made it past the fourth round of a slam before Roland Garros this year was at Wimbledon in 2007. That’s it. Perhaps Berd’s most impressive trait is not his ability to serve big or hit a solid forehand, but his ability to adapt to surfaces this year. Making the Miami final would make sense for his game, but he also had a successful clay season and made the Roland Garros semis. Filled with confidence, he should come out bombs away for Wimbledon.

Tomas is probably my pick for dark horse this fortnight. He has been playing fairly consistently of late and seems less head-casey than usual. He’s had some big wins so I hope he comes out confident and relaxed.

Can’t wait to see who the next seed is Brodie!

  2. He’s my favorite now that Ernie is out :( Loved his game at RG, the best surprise of the tournament! And he seems like a nice guy in interviews, I would so much like to see him do well at Wimby!
