After Rafa came out and demolished the Berdman (I really wasn’t that worried… Rafa on clay, in Spain, with his bromance buddies surrounding him? I don’t care how tired he is…) Ferru got his ass handed to him in two sets, lasting about 70 minutes and taking a whopping 3 games. But he slowly fought back, with a long third set, a solid fourth set, and took both sets with 6-4s… and then to the fifth set. Absolutely dirty gets (oh clay tennis, I long for thee) but The Sex was holding at love and really just volleying and looking great, and Ferru had to fight through a couple deuces, and suddenly it looked like we were going into Wimbley final v2.0…

Then out of nowhere, Ferru battles back from 30-0 on Steps serve at 6 all… breaks, serves it out, and in a flash of a moment, that was all she wrote. The joys of (Davis Cup) tennis my friends. People are calling it a career defining win for Daveed… and its tough to argue really. There would have been genuine concerns for Spanish fans going into Saturday with a 1 all tie… but up 2-0, and again, Rafa on clay at home… thanks for coming out. Miracles can happen… but we’re talking Sven himself flying down from the skies and declaring Steps the chosen one. Regardless, dubs shall be fun tomorrow, as Rafa Fergasm and Feli take to the court.
