Well done Sammy, its about damn time.

Superhero picks up her first ever singles title and in my eye, caps off a really great year on the singles tour, with a convincing win over Franny. Good job woman, you deserve it.

Wicky on the other hand/continent, restores some order to Linz, beating an error prone Kvitova in straight sets, for her second ever title. Both players have qualified for the WTF Bali tournament, and I’m assuming/hoping they both plan on playing… though Sam HAS qualified for the dubs YEC, so if they’re the same week, she won’t be. The entire Bali thing is so stupid that I don’t even care to check if that’s the case. Edit: Thanks to  Em, the MTR Resident Looker-Upperer, who found out that Bali is the week after Doha (because I’m sure we’ll all REALLY care by then) so Sam can play both. Cool stuff. Regardless, both players have had great years, and this is a nice way for them to start wrapping things up on 09.
