Unnecessary

It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t fun. And it sure as hell wasn’t necessary. Dina survives the Australian 18 year old wildcard Olivia Rogowska 67 62 64.

Dina was hitting unforced errors like no other in the first, and Nando’d away the first set in the tiebreak with a double fault. She started getting more consistent in the second set, but the third set was a string of breaks, until 34 and Dina finally decided she’d like to try, and held serve at love. From there she broke, just barely, and then served the damn thing out. By the end of the third set, Z looked like his heart had exploded and he was no longer capable of feeling human emotion. Apparently Mary called him “Mr. Cranky Pants” after the match. Love it.

Dina seriously better get her serve and her forehand together or she’s gonna be out in a hurry. Props to Rogowska who played a hell of a match, mind you. Regardless, things sure are funky, now that Dina and Venus look both very beatable, and we’re not even done the first round.
